Finzel‘s Reach Wayfinding and External Furniture Design is based on the history of the site as a sugar refinery.
It transfers the positive image of sugar into the cityscape and creates spaces by highlighting crucial locations within the development using floor patterns which also become street furniture.
The idea is a hybrid of typical icing patterns and sugar cubes which are pixelated in order to be embedded into the pavement as well as creating a more abstract image. In certain locations these pavement blocks seem to grow out of the ground and become street furniture.
